Deer Prairie Creek Preserve

  1. Very secluded at a dead end road. It’s the perfect quiet spot. Beautiful scenery. Don’t eat the bitter oranges! Cool place to explore and get a good hike in. The boars are very aggressive and territorial… Bring a buddy and don’t go hiking alone like I did! Or go alone and have a story to tell.

  2. One of the very best places to spend an afternoon in North Port. Tons of wildlife to see, wild boar, gopher tortoises and the preserved scrub jay population. Great exercise, Peace, tranquility and a great way to unwind and relax in Nature.

  3. Flat. Extensive trails but not v
As rustic as we’d hoped. Trails should be cut next to creeks/tributaries/ Myakka river.

  4. Nice park – particularly liked kayaking the creek – no current, deep, pretty, and a lot of shade!

  5. Great for kayakers. Bring a camera. Lots of wild life ….a few gators ….. but, this IS Florida
